What is a “Generations in Dialogue” workshop?

This workshop offers to practice “Intergenerational Dialogue”, a therapeutic approach created by an Austrian therapist couple, Dresse Sabine Bösel and her husband Roland Bösel. “Generationen im Dialog” German term (www.generationen-dialog.com), is now given in several European countries and we are pleased to be able to offer it in French-speaking Switzerland in French by Dr. Lars Bonowski and his wife Davine Bonowski , Franco-German therapist couple.

The particularity of this program is that you participate in pairs with your father or mother or your daughter or your son (minimum age 18-20 years).

The emotional legacy

Each family develops relational patterns which are transmitted unconsciously from generation to generation. Often these patterns are tainted by unsaid secrets, unelaborated emotional wounds. Even when we become aware of the relational conditionings in which we are caught, it is difficult to get out of them and change them for fear of hurting, judging or losing the connection with our parents. This work, which is necessary to improve our relationships, is generally done in individual and family psychotherapy. The “Generation in Dialogue” workshop gives us the opportunity to work on this directly with our parents, or people involved as such, in order to release the dysfunctional patterns in which we are caught so as not to unconsciously transmit them to subsequent generations. We may also need to thank, to verbalize to a parent or child everything they have brought us and learned in life. This workshop is also a wonderful opportunity to talk and share in deep intimacy.

Reconcile – heal – grow

This particular form of dialogue between generations allows you to face the past and engage in a new relational dynamic. By talking about what hasn’t been said before, closing old wounds and clearing up misunderstandings. You free yourself and can develop your own personality with much more energy.

Reconciliation with the past creates inner peace and opens new doors to healthier and more harmonious relationships.

Workshop program:

Friday (17.05.2024) afternoon:

This first half-day allows you to get to know each other and create a safe atmosphere so that each participant feels comfortable and can express themselves with confidence. In this context, everyone is invited to define their objective for the weekend.

Saturday and Sunday (18 – 19.05.2024):

The days take place between brief theoretical lessons (personal and intra-family relational patterns, learning about intergenerational dialogue), practical exercises in intergenerational dialogue and group discussions in order to share experiences.

Even if you participate in the workshop with other generational couples, your privacy is assured. You will only discuss personal and intimate matters with your generation partner. In addition, everyone is bound by an appropriate duty of confidentiality, which guarantees your protection and security.
